Errors all around

The previous post was originally written using the blog tool Windows Live Writer 2012. But when I clicked the “publish” button all I got was an error message. Working within IT, I’ve seen my fair share of error messages, but this one had me fumbled…

image

I know I haven’t been very actively blogging…only a post a month…but the program was working fine the last time I blogged. Well as usuall, Google to the rescue!

I found a very simple explanation…Windows Live Writer is no longer supported for Blogger, which is the service I use. A simple switch over to the open source version Open Live Writer and we are back in business (BTW, open source means free). This software is actively being updated, so features I am missing, like spell check and categorization of posts, will hopefully be available soon.

You can read more about the discontinuation of Windows Live Writer here

A box from IKEA

The other day I was at IKEA and came over this box….

Bilde 13.05.15, 22.03.34a cardboard box

to put my used light bulbs…

What is nice about this is that if you return the box with used light bulbs, IKEA will donate 10NOK to WWF.

Bilde 13.05.15, 22.03.51

The box is free. So why not pick one up they next time you are at IKEA?

Updated free stuff

With a new baby coming along in June this year I thought I would take the liberty and get me some free stuff. Using my trust blog and a previous post, I thought I would save some time. But my list/post of free baby stuff is obviously alittle dated (being over 2 years old – or “lightyears in www-time”). So I thought I would put together an updated list – for myself and for you.

If you are intrested, you can find my previous post here.

Sorry to my international readers, shipping/pick-up is in Norway only.

This time I’m getting these:

And these I for some reason don’t need ...

  • Svangerskapsboken 2013 (I picked up my copy at the clinic where I had a sonogram done. BTW can recommend Majorstuaklinikken the staff there take great care of you)
  • Babyshop Sangenic nappy disposal system (you have to register in a Babyshop store as website registration is no longer available, or you can register via Facebook)
  • Barnas Hus Angel Care nappy disposal system – though after trying both Babyshop and Barnas Hus I prefere the Babyshop one: not so big and bulky thus stands more sturdy on the floor – and when you run out of the refill thingies, just use a garbage bag)
  • Babyglede, just because I’m cheap and don’t want to pay 129NOK i S&H
  • Bambino baby spoon (sign up is through Facebook, so you need a FB account)
  • Nestle samples (sign up is through Facebook, so you need a FB account) These are samples for babys 6 months +, so no rush in ordering this one yet.
  • Sylvanian family. (you need to join the fanclub) I remember these from my childhood, not sure how babyfriendly these are though.
  • Lifeline Care Gravid – a 5 day sample of a complete vitamin supplement, dedicated to the first trimester of a pregnancy - just a little too late for me.

No longer available Gråtefjes

Think that is it from me for this time. Now off to send this blog link to a few pregnant friends Engel

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Give away winner = TweedyBird!

A few weeks back I joined in on the Hero Arts 2013 Catalog Blog Hop with the Hero Hostesses. Seeing the wonderful creations the HA-hostesses had posted in their blogs were truly inspirational. During the blog hop there were also announced give aways. And yours truly won one of them!

Not being a born winner I had to read Kellys message a few times before I understood what she was asking me for. In her blog Lovin’ The life I Color she even had a post about me winning the give away.

Well today I received my stamp. Yay! Kelly added a little extra with my stamp…a super cute card with a personal message inside. Thank you Kelly!

A stamp from the new Hero Arts catalog, of course! It was a new release blog hop…
I look forward to play with this stamp (Kelly also added some ribbon too, she’s SO sweet)

Another buzz

Today I picket up my newest Buzzador package. Yay!

Product this time: Fruit smoothies from Nestlé
This time I’m buzzing about Nestlé Min Frukt (a fruit smoothie) that comes in practical food pouches. As always the great people at Buzzador make sure we have enough to test ourselves and lots to give away! I received ten! pouches of the two types, the red pouch: apple/banana/strawberry and the green pouch: apple/pear.

image

We already know that she loves food that come in pouches. Unfortunately BabyS is sick these days so her appetite is more or less lacking. Not the best time to test out new tastes. So holding off a few days with these pouches. But we are looking forward to trying these.

- Have you tried Nestlé Min Frukt?
Feel free to comment you opinions on these pouches below.

What is a Buzzador you ask?
If you haven’t head about Buzzador, it’s about time! The concept of Buzzador is “curious people that test products and services. The Buzzadors spread their honest opinions to friends and acquaintances”

Being a Buzzador has given me the opportunity to test products I didn’t know existed or would ever try if I just saw it in the store. This way I get to test the product, give feedback to the producer and give honest recommendations to friends and family. And all this for free! What’s better than that?

Add some freshness to your day

A while back I posted about getting a lot of chewing gum. Well after trying it myself and having DaddyO bring some to work I can just say it brings a feeling of freshness to your mouth. Have you tried Wrigley's Extra Professional?

I like the freshness the gum gives me when chewing after a meal. Beats having to brush my teeth after eating. And believe me, since I breastfeed BabyS, I eat all the time. Also, the minty taste lasts forever! Got tired of chewing before the taste went away.

With such a strong minty flavor I don’t have to worry about having bad breath either. Can recommend this gum for some freshness any day…

Fonts galore

Once again I have been playing around with the design of this blog. This time I added a signature file to every blog post. Played around with a few fonts and colors and wound up with this signature…Like it? SignTBgraa

While playing around, I came over a new site for free fonts, a nice collection of some cool free fonts. Have added more than a handful of new fonts to my already bountiful  collection. Can’t hurt to have too many fonts?

LinkOver
http://www.fontspace.com/
LinkUnder

Doesn’t hurt that Windows 7 makes it so easy to install new fonts either. Just open a .ttf and there’s a Install-button on the top left side of the window. Can’t complain about that. How many fonts will you install???

Buzz, buzz, buzz

Being a Buzzador means I frequently get the option of participating in different “marketing campaigns “. This means I get free stuff I can share with friends and family, what’s better than that?

Today I picked up my latest package from Buzzador…3 kilos of chewing gum!! Personally I don’t chew much gum, but DaddyO does… So he gets a box to bring to work. This way he can share with his colleagues too. Well off to plan some more sharing (or buzzing as we Buzzadors call it)

Last baby package

With the recent addition to our family I haven’t had time to actually publish this post until now…sorry
We picked up the last baby package from our local convenience store Rimi just before rushing to the hospital.
I’ve posted several blog post about all the free baby stuff you can get just by registering certain places.
Last on my list was the package from Rimi. By registering you get a voucher to use for pickup.
Photo 13 19 31 14.05.12
Photo 20 26 22 30.05.12
The package consisted of the following:
Between all the baby packages we have collected we had a nice start with what we needed for our babys arrival. Still I recommend going to the local pharmacies and convenience store to get a feel of who has what. So that when you have tried the different samples and get a feel of what brands you prefer, you know where to get more.
PS: You will need more diapers than what you get in these baby packages within a couple of days….

Another follow up…it’s free

This is another follow up post of the free baby stuff post I did a few weeks ago.

This time it’s about the Libero startboks. To receive this box you have to register with Liberoklubben. To get this box you get a gift certificate in the mail, that is used to pick up the box from any Kiwi store.

Photo 20 56 50 03.05.12

The package consisted of:

Now I have enough samples to make up an opinion about Libero products when the baby comes along.

The last baby package from Apotek1 seems to be harder to get a hold of then anticipated, as the package is out of stock everywhere.

A few days ago I also got the BAM package in the mail…

Photo 22 28 53 03.05.12

It consisted of the following (all sample size):

  • Dr Greve Allround cream
  • Blenda Sensitive laundry detergent
  • Libero diapers size 1 and size 2
  • Antibac gel
  • Philips Avent night pads
  • Philips Avent pacifier
  • Donald Duck pacifier clip
  • Bokklubbens ‘Bare spør’ book

Nice to haves in the diaperbag??? Smile with tongue out

Follow up…it's free

Not long ago I did a post about all the free stuff available for expecting families here in Norway. Some I will get directly in the mail and some I have to bring a coupon and pick up at the store.
So I’ve picked up the two nappy disposal system directly from their stores.
From Babyshop I got this one:
Photo 16 03 29 20.04.12
And from Barnas Hus, this one:
Photo 16 02 45 20.04.12
Haven’t unpacked anything yet as I’m not sure where to put them. Was thinking of having one in the bedroom/nursery for the simple diaper changes. I’m considering having one in the bathroom, but not sure how the system will work standing on the floor heating 24/7. Imagining the bacteria thriving a little too well….
Also got the Babybox from Apotek1:
Photo 16 04 14 20.04.12The package consisted of (most of the tubes/bottles are “travel size”):
  • A bottle of 2 in 1 shower and shampoo
  • An issue of the magazine “Foreldre & barn”
  • A baby picture book
  • A baby body size 62
  • A packet of non-perfume baby wipes
  • Pampers diapers size 2 & 3
  • Avent disposable breast pads
  • Avent pacifier
  • MAM pacifier
  • A tube of Natuvive papaya smooth hand cream
  • A bottle of Sebamed shower oil
  • A bottle of Sebamed baby bubble bath
  • A tube of Dr Greve All-round cream
  • A tube of Bepanthen ointment
So now I have baby products I didn’t know I needed Hot smile Now all I need to find out is how I organize the nursery changing table….

It’s free…

Don’t know how many of my readers watch(ed) the Matt Groening series Futurama. but just have to share this little youtube clip when talking about free stuff
It’s free…
Being pregnant I have gotten a few tips from friends and family about the free stuff I should sign up for to the baby. So I thought I would share them here (sorry, but I think these are only available in Norway):
Well I think that is it…I’ll do an update post as I receive my packages.
