Shake, shake, shake

Last years Christmas card from CasaR was a shaker card. To make the card I used the We’r’memory keepers Fuse tool. Bitten by the shaker cards bug I thought I would make more….but I want the shaker bits to be personalized for the recipient. So no mass production of cards to have at hand.

I made a shaker card for my nieces birthday, but of course I forgot to snap a picture.

Well this weekend I made one for one of the girls in SweetieS kindergarten….Happy birthday Dina! I had some postit shaped like an iphone, so inspired by a card I saw on pintrest, I made this…

DineShakerCard

I just love my Wink of Stella pens, they as such a nice shimmer. I used the clear pen for the iphone background. For the bubbles I used a sky blue and a purplish pen. Not sure if the picture does the shine justice….

Bilde 13.01.2017, 19.48.19I tried taking a picture of just the background…

I think I’ll just link to a video by Jennifer Mcguire here. In the video she shows how she adds shine to cards using the Wink of Stella pens.

-have you made shaker cards?

Give away winner = TweedyBird!

A few weeks back I joined in on the Hero Arts 2013 Catalog Blog Hop with the Hero Hostesses. Seeing the wonderful creations the HA-hostesses had posted in their blogs were truly inspirational. During the blog hop there were also announced give aways. And yours truly won one of them!

Not being a born winner I had to read Kellys message a few times before I understood what she was asking me for. In her blog Lovin’ The life I Color she even had a post about me winning the give away.

Well today I received my stamp. Yay! Kelly added a little extra with my stamp…a super cute card with a personal message inside. Thank you Kelly!

What did I win you ask?
A stamp from the new Hero Arts catalog, of course! It was a new release blog hop…
I look forward to play with this stamp (Kelly also added some ribbon too, she’s SO sweet)

Christmas card 2012

A while back I promised a post on last years Christmas card. Here it is!

I love being creative when putting together my Christmas cards, but there isn’t enough creative juice to make 25 unique cards. So every year I play around and end up with a card design I like, which then gets “mass produced”.

For this years card base I chose a cream colored cardstock. With the largest die in Quickutz nested ornament die cut set I cut out the ornament for the front. To give the ornament a Christmas feel I embossed a pearlescent green embossing powder (unknown brand) after stamping with the Hero Arts Flourish Background Stamp (CG119) and Versamark ink. With Fiskars 1” hole punch I made a hole for the picture of BabyS (I’m trying to keep pictures of BabyS in this blog to a minimum…but the card just wouldn’t look the same with a blurred out picture). The ornament was then attached to the card with a little ribbon and a glue dot. Under the tree I had stamped (with a discontinued Inque Boutique stamp - Stephanie Barnard Mini Christmas -Model # 50437) a little Christmas greeting…The star on the top of the tree got a little bling to make it “sparkle”…cute!

Inside the card DaddyO had written our 2012 review and another stamped Christmas greeting together with a handwritten sentiment. The corner was adorned with a Magnolia swirly ornament stamp.

Hopefully friends and family have received their cards by now…

Signed and sealed

Last night I finally put the finishing touches on this years Christmas cards.

signed, sealed and ready for delivery

Don’t want to reveal any details  around the design as the recipients haven’t received their cards yet. Look forward to a future post with pictures Winking smile And to the friends and family that receive a card, all I can just say is…this years card is super cute!

See the cool sender address stamp on the back of the envelopes? Those are personalized stamps ordered from this Ebay store. Love that they offer pre-inked, cling or clear rubber, handle mounted (or not)…you can get A LOT of designs and they can all be personalized to your liking. And for those of you out there in need of special characters (like the Norwegian ÆØÅ) – they offer that too!

Some examples of the stamps Loongchai74 offers – and I have…

Well off to put the cards in the mail…
Do you create your own Christmas cards? wanna share with me?
Are you finished with this years cards?
